It lets publishers run their video strategy centrally, from selecting content through to monetisation. Content providers make their content available to a large network of digital publishers and so unlock additional reach and revenue. How is glomex connected to ProSiebenSat.1?

The glomex Exchange is a web-based video publishing platform that connects publishers and content providers. Content providers upload their licensed video content, manage metadata and rights, and make the videos available for the publisher network to select. Publishers find the content that fits and embed it in their websites or apps via the glomex player. glomex handles technical delivery, ad sales and billing. Performance and forecast revenue can be viewed in the dashboard.

How many videos are available on the glomex Exchange?

What is a video platform?

A video platform such as glomex enables media companies to manage, publish, distribute and monetise videos centrally. To do so it bundles functions such as player technology, video content, distribution and ad sales, so videos can be delivered efficiently across websites or apps.

What is self-syndication?

Self-syndication means managing, delivering and monetising your own video content centrally. Publishers upload their videos to the glomex Exchange and embed them in their websites or apps via the glomex player. That way they use an existing video infrastructure and need neither their own player nor a separate technical setup. Integrated ad sales take care of monetising the content. Acting as both publisher and content provider, they benefit from both shares of the revenue-share model.

How does video monetisation work?

Video monetisation means earning revenue by delivering advertising in video content. Ads are embedded and the revenue they generate depends on factors such as video views and advertising demand. With glomex, publishers can monetise both licensed content and their own videos. Ad sales run through partners such as Seven.One Media and Smartstream as well as further programmatic sales partners. Net revenue is split between publishers, content providers and other partners involved through a transparent revenue-share model.

What does VAST mean?

VAST (Video Ad Serving Template) is an established industry standard from the IAB Tech Lab for delivering video advertising. It governs the communication between video player and ad server and enables video ads to be integrated in a standardised way.

What is a CPM?

CPM (cost per mille) – known in German as Tausend-Kontakt-Preis or TKP – is the price for 1,000 delivered ad impressions. It is a key metric for pricing and evaluating advertising inventory.

What is an ad fill rate?

An ad fill rate describes the share of ad requests that are actually filled with video advertising. It is usually given as a percentage. An ad fill of 80 per cent means, for example, that an ad was delivered for 80 out of 100 valid ad requests. The figure depends on factors including available advertising demand, the inventory, consent signals and technical factors.
